Volkher Jacobsen is the MAF International Flight Training Manager.
He joined MAF in 1995 and has spent his entire professional career serving with MAF. First in Arnhem Land, then from 1996 in various locations throughout Papua New Guinea, where he held different roles, including Deputy Chief Pilot. In 2004, Volkher moved with his family to Cairns for his current role. Volkher splits his time between the Cairns office and Mareeba where he takes an active role in the continual training of the current MAF pilots as well as overseeing the development of the Flight Training Programme.
Originally from Germany, Volkher completed compulsory military service in the German AirForce before gaining a Bachelor of Science in Mission Aviation Technology. As well as his Commercial Pilot’s Licence and Instructor Ratings, Volkher also has engineering experience, holding his American FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics qualification.
